William Van Winkle

When William Mitchell Van Winkle was born on January 17, 1913, in New York City, New York, his father, William, was 27 and his mother, Mary, was 21. He married Marjorie Boesel in Rye, New York, on December 7, 1940, when he was 27 years old.

William was a graduate of St. Paul's School and was graduated from Harvard with the class of '35. He was also a graduate of Columbia Law School.

In Rye his family lived on Forest Ave. William enlisted in the Army on September 21, 1943, in New York City, New York, during World War II when he was 30 years old

He died on February 11, 2004, in Litchfield, Connecticut, at the age of 91, and was buried there.
